About Draper Academy
Draper Academy offers a dynamic learning experience tailored for children ages 6-10*, meeting twice a week for three-hour sessions. In small groups of four, students will engage in individualized learning programs thoughtfully designed by Miss Chris, drawing from her extensive teaching experience. Through interactive tasks, worksheets, and one-on-one support when needed, every child receives the attention they deserve in a safe and engaging environment.
The daily schedule is structured as follows:
Reading: 1 hour
Writing: 45 minutes
Math: 50 minutes
Short breaks throughout the session allow for outdoor time, snacks, and play.
We are fortunate to have Miss Chris guiding and supporting our children. With over 20 years of experience teaching children of all abilities, she holds a master's degree in special education from Eastern Illinois University. As the former head of Draper Academy, a private school catering to students with diverse needs and challenges, she helped some children advance by four grade levels in a single school year. Now, she is excited to bring her expertise to the homeschool community.
